Healing doesn’t only happen on operating tables or in exam rooms, and Tony Rodarte stands among those making a lasting impact beyond the walls of clinics and hospitals.
The Compassion Alliance co-founder has been named a 2026 Health-Care Hero by PHOENIX magazine, recognized among first responders, nonprofit leaders, patient advocates, therapists and other behind-the-scenes healthcare professionals advancing care across the Valley.
Now in its third year, the award highlights 30 individuals spanning a wide spectrum of care and support, honoring those helping improve lives both inside and outside traditional healthcare settings. Honorees were selected through reader and editor nominations recognizing people making meaningful contributions to healthier communities.
For Tony, the recognition reflects years of advocacy surrounding first responder mental health and Compassion Alliance’s mission to connect first responders, retirees and spouses with free, confidential trauma therapy from culturally competent clinicians who understand the realities of the job.
“I’ve learned you can’t carry this job alone, and you shouldn’t have to,” Tony shared with PHOENIX magazine. “That’s why this work matters.”
