In recognition of its impact on the first responder community, Compassion Alliance earned the 2026 Nonprofit of the Year honor at the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Business Awards. Winners were announced June 17 during the Annual Business Awards Luncheon, which celebrated businesses, organizations and individuals making a difference across the Gilbert community.
The honor reflects Compassion Alliance’s continued growth and expanding reach. Founded by former homicide detective Tony Rodarte and physician Dr. Melody Rodarte, the nonprofit connects first responders, retirees and their spouses with vetted trauma therapists, removing financial and logistical barriers to care.
“Being named nonprofit of the year is an incredible honor and a reflection of the first responders, families, clinicians and supporters who make this mission possible,” said Tony Rodarte, co-founder of Compassion Alliance. “We started Compassion Alliance to make sure those who protect our communities can access trusted care without delay, cost or stigma standing in the way. This recognition helps bring even more awareness to that need.”

This recognition comes on the heels of Tony’s recent selection as a 2026 Health-Care Hero by PHOENIX magazine and Compassion Alliance being named a finalist for Az Business magazine’s Champions of Change Awards.
